The Country Dentist News

Debbie Herrick recently visited Alaska to participate in volunteer dentistrty for Alaska Natives in remote villages. Dental care in many Native villages is severely limited, with no resident dentists. Dr. Herrick contacted the Norton Sound Health Corporation when she heard of an ad over the radio. It is the Northern branch of the Alaska Native Tribal Hospital System.

During her time there, Dr. Herrick discovered one village and one base city had The Head Start Program for pre-school children. Interestingly, The Head Start program in Milwaukee, WI was where Dr. Deb as "the tooth fairy" got started back in 1979. Click on the pictures below for an enlarged view.
